Block A Done!

During this block I had 8 weeks to remake the old Retro game, Pitfall, in C++. One of the constraints was that I was not allowed to use any external libraries. Including the STD library. This meant that I had to make my own Vector, String, and other classes.
I scored a 100/100 points on the assignment!

Lights out is released!

This marks the first (published) app I created after my internship. When compared to my earlier applications, the development process was noticeably smoother, clearly showcasing the improvments I've made because of my internship at Little Chicken.

Accepted into Buas!

Before I got accepted to the study Creative Media & Game Technologies I had to do an intake. The theme of this intake was "Bounce". Although I had prior programming knowledge, I had never used C++ before. After my game was reviewed and demed it was good, I was invited to an interview on campus. Couple weeks later I received the news that I got accepted. I scored a 100/100 points on the assignment!

Gradute from Software Development!

I followed the study Software Development on Het Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam and graduated in 2023. I was the first student from my school that was allowed to this this. This meant that I did a 4 year study (which my school already did in 3 years) in just 2 years including Internship. I also got an extra vertification from the school verifying I did my study in 2 years.

Internship at Little Chicken!

In December 2022, I received exciting news from my school: I had been selected as the first student at Het Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam to participate in a fast-track program for my study. However, in order to receive my diploma, I needed to complete an internship. This meant that I had to find a suitable company within a couple of weeks.

Fortunately, Little Chicken recognized my potential and offered me an interview, even though they already had enough interns and the timeframe was tight. Ultimately, they accepted me as an intern.

Despite the daily 2-hour commute in the morning and evening, I consider the internship at Little Chicken to be a valuable experience. I am grateful for the opportunity they gave me and to gain experience in my field of study.

My story in the Newspapers!

My app gained more atraction and the local newspaper contacted me. They wanted to write about my story and my app. It was amazing to see my work getting so much recognition. I was thrilled to be interviewed for the article and share my experience with others. The journalist was very friendly and asked me a lot of interesting questions about my app's development and purpose. It was a great opportunity to spread the word about my app and reach a wider audience.

GLR Winterfest

Every year there is a festival called "GLR Winterfest" that my school organizes where the whole school is invited to go ice skating, drink hot chocolate and just have a good time to end the year. That year I was ahead of my school work so the teachers thought it would be a good idea to make a game for the festival that everyone could play. So in just a couple of weeks I programmed this game. That was going to be played by the whole school.

I graduated!

After 4 years, I finally graduated high-school. Every student got a goodiebag with a letter that we wrote to our self in the first year when we were 12. In that letter I wrote to myself "I hope that I will have my own game on the game market when I'm older" 5 years later and I have 2 games, one I made myself and one I made with a company in Norway. Both with more than 5.000 downloads combined.

Started young!

When a was 11-years-old and still in elementary school I already had my interests in programming. I went every week to a club called "CoderDojo" where I started to learn the basics of programming. I worked mostly with Raspberry Pis and the "coding language" Scratch.

Scratch holds a special place in my heart. It was a real playground for me and I spent a lot of time coding in it.
