This was my first time modding a game. Cyberpunk 2077 is one of my favorite games, and after playing it for hundreds of hours I wanted to add something to the game. I decided to create a map that is more realistic than the one in the game.
The original shows a 3D silhouette of the buildings. While cool that it is 3D, it wasn't really useful for me and it felt it was missing a lot of detail. So I decided to replace the default map with a high resolution 2D Render of the actual map.
My showcase video on Reddit blew up! This gained a lot of attention and positive feedback to the mod. Because of this, my mod was on the front page on Nexus for a while. And gained over +100,000 downloads.
It was even highlighted in articles by TheGamer.com and GamingBible.com.
Paweł Sasko, associate game director at CD Projekt RED and someone I greatly admire, reacted to the mod on Twitter with the comment: "Banger Mod, very cool!"
As a programming student, my ultimate goal is to work at CD Projekt RED and contribute to their upcoming Cyberpunk sequal, "Project Orion."
Banger mod, very cool!
